Total
Destruction Is Heading For America; Homosexual Marriage
Yellow picket fences, Cocker Spaniel Dogs, three very
young children playing on a swing set together, and a mansion to fit in the
ritzy neighborhood, all because of marriage. Marriage is defined as “the social
institution under which a man and a woman establish their decision to live as
husband and wife by legal commitments and religious ceremonies.” (Dictionary)
Who is it to say whether or not your dream of a marriage can be fulfilled? According
to the United States of America, every state has that right; the right in which
you can choose whether or not to marry of the same sex. There are states that
allow Same-Sex Marriages and there are states that do not allow Same-Sex
Marriages. Gay Marriage should not be supported because it is Biblically wrong,
the environment for Kids is not beneficial and marriage is a privilege not a
right.
Gay Marriage is Biblically incorrect. The Bible says that
God intended for Marriage to be between a man and a woman not two of the same
sexes. In Leviticus 18:22 it says “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with
womankind: it is an abomination.” (King
James Version Bible) This quote speaks for itself; it explains that woman and
woman man and man should not lie with together the same as woman and man do.
Same Sex Marriage is incompatible with the benefits, sacred texts and
traditions of many religious groups because Catholic, Presbyterian, Islamic,
United Methodist, and Southern Baptist oppose Same Sex Marriage. They believe
that expanding marriages of the Same Sex would force Churches to go against
Biblical Laws and teach children that Same Sex Marriage is the same as Opposite
Sex Marriage. Marriage is a religious privilege between one man and one woman.
According to a July 31, 2003 statement from The Congregation for the Doctrine
of Faith states, “Marriage was established by the creator with the own nature,
essential properties and purpose. No ideology can erase from the Human Spirit
the certainty that marriage exist solely between a man and a woman.” (Pope John
Paul II) Marriage is a privilege not a right. Society is allowed and can choose
to approve certain types of sexual arrangements and give support with benefits.
The purpose and reason why marriage was created was to allow society to support
Heterosexuals as they are and choose not to give the same benefits to the Same
Sex Couples. Lastly, Same Sex Marriages are not Civil Rights Issues, and
comparing this issue with Interracial Marriage is wrong. The Civil Rights Act
of 1964 includes 1) a history of numerous accounts of discrimination, 2)
economic disadvantages, and 3) unchanging characteristics of the Constitution.
Sexual Orientation does not fall into any of the three categories or meet any
of the three historically protected rights.
Another reason Homosexuals should not be allowed to marry
in South Carolina or anywhere in the United States of American is because the
environment the kids are placed in is not beneficial to them. Marriage should
not be extended to the same Sex Couples because they cannot produce children
together. Allowing Gay Marriage would only further shift the purpose of
marriage from producing and rising to freely giving adults what they want. The
Institution of Marriage has traditionally defined as between a man and a woman.
In the decision, Baker v Nelson the Supreme Court of Minnesota found that the
Institution of Marriage unifies man and woman and raising children in a home
with heterosexuals is as old as the book of Genesis.( Baker v Nelson Case)
Homosexual Marriages should not have American Tax Dollars paying for something
they believe is wrong. Gay Marriages would entitle Gay Couples typical marriage
benefits. They would be allowed to claim tax exemption for a spouse, receive
social security from a deceased spouse and coverage by a spouse’s health
insurance policy. The Congressional Budget Office estimated that in 2009 the
cost of Federal Government of extending employment benefits to Same Sex
Partners would be more than $596 million dollars in mandatory spending and $302
million dollars in funding for whatever they need it for throughout 2010-2019.
Furthermore, Gay Marriages should not be allowed because
marriage is a privilege not a right. Gay Marriages could soon lead to giving
Polygamous (having more than two sex partners), Incestuous (marriage of a
really close relative), and Bestial (marriage of an animal or animals).
Numerous people are pushing for Gay Marriages to be passed so no one else will
see anything wrong with all of the other wrong types of marriages. Homosexual
Marriages will also lead to more children being raised in Same Sex households
when kids need to be raised with a mother and a father. Statistics have proven
that girls who are raised apart from their fathers are at higher risk for early
sexual activity and teenage pregnancy. Children without a mother have no
emotional security and lack mother’s advice. (Gay Marriage Pros/ Cons) In the
book, “ Growing Up In A Lesbian Family Effects On Child Development, Fiona
Tasker observed that 25% of sampled young adults raised by Lesbian Mothers
engaged in Homosexual relations rather than 0% sampled of young adults with Heterogeneous
Parents.
I believe that same- Sex Marriage should not be legalized
throughout the entire country. In my opinion, I feel that Marriage should be
between a man and a woman and they should not be allowed to have the benefits
and privileges of Heterosexual couples. I believe that being gay or straight is
not determined before the person is born. (Genetically); so not allowing the
couple to get married based on feelings he or she can control, is fair and is
against what our Country as a whole was founded upon.

Letter to the Editor
I
am writing to express my concern with Same Sex Marriage and how it should not
be allowed throughout our country.
Marriage was designed to be between a man and a woman, not two people of
the same sexes. Allowing Homosexual Marriages would only destroy our Country
more. We have far more pressing issues that need to be addressed. Same Sex marriages have negative influences
on child behavior, children cannot be produced, and research has proven that
children who have been raised up lacking a motherly or fatherly figure have a
higher risk for being sexually active at young ages. I believe Homosexual
Marriages should not be legalized at all. Based on my biblical belief, a
marriage should be between a man and a woman and homosexuals should not be
allowed to have the benefits and privileges of Hetero Sexual Couples.

The Life inside a
Two-Sided Body
My cousin has a
secret that no one knows about
I think he's kind
of strange
It made my mother,
me and everyone cry
But she's, I am not
and they are not the ones to blame
He is...
My mom says that
he's special
My dad says he's a
freak
I think that he is
insane
And I know is that
he spends the night with numerous guys each week.
He likes to dress
in women's clothes, and put on red rose lipstick
He likes to wear
tight panty-hoes to put on a show
Only because he
loves the way it feels.
He occupies himself
in the mirror for hours at a time
Trying on my
make-up, different clothes, and different shoes
And all he says is
“That ain't a crime."
He puts on lipstick
And kisses pictures
of himself
He has a 1000
different pairs of shoes
All lined up on a
shelf.
I am insulted by
the way I dress
I have no style
He says my outfits
are a mess
And that I’m in
denial.
He made me an
appointment
With a gender
therapist
And when I said I
don't need help
He said “I
insist!"
When people ask his
mom,
About the guys that
comes home
She swears they're
his friends from school
But then they end
up spending the night alone.
He places a lock
Upon his bedroom
door
So no one can walk
in,
Because I have tried
that once before.
I swore that I said
I was just cleaning
It was my mistake
But when they
looked at me suspiciously
I just said
"he's my cousin for Christ’s sake!"
I said it was my
right to know
What was going on
with him?
But instead of
showing sympathy
I told him it was
sin.
"What will the
neighbors think?"
That's what I had
to say
Then she had many
drinks
To keep her
thoughts away.
When she realized
Nothing she did or
said
Could change the
mind of her only son
She chose to die
instead.
It was after
midnight when she did it
Everybody was
asleep
She looked up to
the sky
And prayed the lord
her soul to keep.
When we woke up in
the morning
Found her lying
there
Across the bathroom
floor
With blood
reddening her hair.
The note said she
couldn't take it
The embarrassment,
the shame
She couldn't stand
the scandal that he became
This would bring
the good to her name.
So we held a dark
service
In honor of her
life
I said she was a
perfect mother
And indeed a
perfect wife.
Now my mother has a
secret
She was insane
It made my brother
cry
But he was not the
one to blame.
